Principal Geotechnical Engineer
Jim has over thirty-five years of experience in the field of geotechnical engineering and materials testing oversight, practicing locally since 1990. Jim has also practiced for six years in southern California, working on such projects as the Directors Guild of America building, the 14 story Hilton Waterfront Beach Resort, the San Bernardino Community Hospital, and a chip manufacturing facility for Western Digital. Jim has expertise in a wide range of small to large sized residential, commercial, and industrial developments. Many of these projects include complex earthwork, retaining wall, and slope stability issues. Jim is experienced in repair of distressed structures, provides expert consultation and testimony on design and construction related to geotechnical issues. Jim has also provided peer review, technical oversight and quality assurance services for local government agencies. Jim is registered as a Professional Engineer in the states of Oregon and Washington, and as a Geotechnical Engineer, Engineering Geologist, and Registered Geologist in Oregon.
Jim’s interest in earth sciences began after witnessing the Mt. St. Helens eruption on May 18, 1980 from Mt. Adams. Jim enjoys spending time at the coast, whale watching, entertaining and playing pickleball.

Tana Jackson
Director of Operations
Tana brought several years of operations management to GeoPacific Engineering, Inc., before joining them in 2001. Tana oversees the company’s day to day operations as well as developing and forecasting future business opportunities. She ensures that the company runs as smoothly, efficiently and effectively as possible, while staying compliant with state and government regulations. Tana’s core responsibilities are financial management/analysis, human resources, sales, project management along with many other business-related responsibilities.
Being a native Oregonian, Tana enjoys the outdoors, spending time with her three German Wirehaired Pointers Rufus, Oscar and Charlie, and time with her family.
Outside of GeoPacific, Tana is the Executive Director of 4 World’s United Soccer Alliance, a non-profit focused on providing opportunities on and off the soccer field to economically underprivileged minority youth in the Portland Metro area.
Benjamin G Anderson

Ben Anderson, P.E.
Associate Engineer
Ben Anderson has over eleven years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field with a wide variety of project types, including residential, municipal, industrial, and commercial. Ben is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Oregon and obtained his B.S. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. Ben’s expertise includes the design of deep foundations, shallow foundations, retaining walls, rigid pavement sections, flexible pavement sections, slope stabilization systems, and temporary shoring. As an associate engineer, Ben is responsible for coordinating subsurface explorations, performing and managing construction observation services, performing engineering analyses, and consulting with owners and other design professionals.
Outside of work, Ben Anderson enjoys working in his garden at home, going to concerts, spending time with his family and friends, and playing ultimate frisbee.
Beth K Rapp

Beth Rapp, R.G., C.E.G., M.S.
Senior Engineering Geologist
Beth has fifteen years of experience in the geotechnical engineering field, with extensive experience on large residential and commercial development projects and is a Registered Geologist and Certified Engineering Geologist in the state of Oregon. She obtained her Master’s Degree in Geology from Portland State University in 2005 where her thesis focused on mapping lahar deposits on the Sandy River Delta. Beth has expertise in subsurface investigation, geologic mapping, landslide hazard assessment, slope stability, technical report writing, infiltration testing, and drafting.
Beth realized her love of geology as a child finding fossils and playing in the creek behind her house in northeastern Ohio. After obtaining her B.S. in Geology from Kent State University, she moved to Oregon to pursue her graduate studies in 2001. She and her husband Shawn live on a farm in Sandy, Oregon with their three horses and three dogs. She enjoys being outside, hiking, spending time with the animals, and occasionally sailing in the San Juan Islands.

Stephen Morris
Stephen has twelve years of environmental consulting and research experience including Phase 1 and 2 Site Assessments, asbestos and lead testing, and underground storage tank decommissioning. Mr. Morris has expertise in environmental site investigation and characterization, tracing contaminant pathways, pollution cleanup, technical report writing, analysis, collection of soil and water samples, modeling hydrologic conditions, and installation of monitoring wells. Mr. Morris has obtained numerous certifications related to environmental investigation including: 40-Hour HAZWOPPER, AHERA Asbestos Building Inspector, State of Washington, Certified Site Assessor, State of Oregon, Certified Underground Storage Tank Decommissioner, State of Oregon, Certified HOT Supervisor, and U.S. DOT HAZMAT Certification.

Lexi Campbell joined GeoPacific in May 2021.
She obtained her B.S. and Master’s in Civil Engineering from The University of Idaho with an emphasis in the geotechnical field. Lexi has expertise in topics related to groundwater, unsaturated soils, and rock mechanics.
As an Engineer in Training, Lexi is working toward becoming a registered Professional Engineer in the state of Oregon. In the meantime, she performs observations of earthwork construction, investigates subsurface conditions, performs preliminary engineering analysis, and prepares technical reports.
